The Vietnamese Traditional Music conference first hosted in Toronto, Canada was founded by Kim Uyên. The goal of the Vietnamese Traditional Music Conference program is to promote Vietnamese culture and traditional music while creating a sense of community among Vietnamese traditional music groups throughout North America and around the world. This event provides an enriching environment for those with a passion for music through speeches and interactive, collaborative workshops hosted by musicians and composers renown in Vietnamese traditional music, concluded by performances from all musicians and Vietnamese traditional music groups.
The First Vietnamese Traditional Music Conference in Người Việt Ngày Nay – Page 1 & 2 (12/08/2011)
The conference consisted of two parts:
Musical discussion and collaboration of all musicians; Phương Oanh from France, Đức Thành and Kim Uyên from Toronto
A multitude of musical performances from all groups and individuals involved at the concert held at the Unitarian Congregation concert hall in Mississauga, Ontario. Musical groups included: Tre Việt, Nhạc Việt Nam (from Toronto) Hướng Việt (from Seattle), Phượng Ca (from Paris).
